The World and God

The World and GodCommentary'sJesus gave us a warning, we live in the world, but we cannot be of the world and serve God.
"I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world."
John 17:14-16.
When Jesus gave that command, He was telling us that we are not to follow the unbelieving world's values, not it's beliefs, nor conduct. We as Christians are not to share in these things that the world offers us because they come grom Satan. Instead, we are to follow Jesus' word and reflect on it by the way we conduct our words and the actions we show others by reflecting God's image.
As Christian's, the Lord expects us to represent Him in a loving way and not on a judgemental way. As a Christian annd true believer of Jedus Christ, we should know that it's the kindness of God that brings men to repentance, and so we come to represent the Father's love and kindness in the face of Our Lord Jesus Christ. As one of Jesus' disciples, we are to honor Him by reflecting the light of Christ and hope to attract the unbeliever to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to be Born Again.
Jesus was living in the world but yet He never sinned, yet He made Himself available to sinners daily. Just a few thing Jesus did slmost on a daily basis was He ate with sinners, He counseled prostitutes and remember, He stayed in the homes of tax collectors and other evil men.
Jesus associate Himself with sinners in this way, because He was sent to earth as a human to heal the sick. Remember He said, "They that are whole need not a physician, but they that are sick" appears in the Mark 2:17, Matthew 9:12, and Luke 5:31. Jesus used this metaphor to explain that he came to call sinners to repentance, rather than those who believe, they are already righteous.
Similarly, Christians aren't called to restrict our associations to only Christians or sinless people - if this were the case, we could have no friends at all! Instead, we are called to live in and among the unbelieving world as witnesses to Christ. In order to do this, we must associate ourselves with unbelievers and immoral men and women.
When we live for God, we are to have a personal relationship with him for example you have a friend and you talk all the time, you get to know them more and more and can sit with them in conversation. This is the same with God, the more we communicate and talk with Him, the more we get to understand what is pleasing and acceptable to GOD.
In the book of Matthew, chapter 6 verse 24, it says "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." I believe what the Lord is trying to relay to us is, I'm giving you a to choose God or the world.
The choice is very simple, it is either God way, or it is Satan way. You cannot have both! The choice is yours!!!
